At SIMSREE we believe in the philosophy that business leaders need to go beyond the interest of their companies to the communities they serve. The Student Social Responsibility Committee of the institute works incessantly to ingrain values of sustainable development and compassion towards the society through a myriad of events. At the very beginning of the academic year, the committee organises a blood donation camp in association with Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, that receives a heartwarming response every year. The committee also participates actively in Enactus India National Competition, through which it adds value to the society by creating social ventures and handing them over to underprivileged people. In association with 'Sparc', a shelter home for underprivileged children, academic sessions are conducted at the campus to enhance the learning experience of those children. Through 'Aakar', an initiative in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), our students mentor NGOs and self help groups (SHGs) to devise solutions to their business problems. To have a broader impact and plant a seed of reform, the committee organises 'Mrudgandha', its flagship event that focuses on spreading awareness about issues prevalent in the society by collaborating with an NGO and talks delivered by erudite people on the issue. The committee works diligently with and for the students to create a positive impact on the society and environment while shaping business leaders for a better world.
